About AEM 2023

The 8th International Workshop on Airborne Electromagnetics will be held at Fitzroy Island, Queensland Australia. This workshop is an in person only event being held between the 3 – 7 September 2023.

Fitzroy Island is an unspoilt tropical paradise of rainforest and beaches within the calm sheltered waters of the Great Barrier Reef. The island is a National Park, with walking trails, tropical plants and animals, and abundant marine life.

The workshop provides an international platform encompassing advances in airborne electromagnetic systems, modelling, and interpretation. Presentations will include case studies covering geotechnical, mining, energy, groundwater, and environmental applications from across the globe.

The technical program will run from the 4 – 7 September and will feature speakers from academia, government and industry, with keynotes delivered by leading experts, alongside providing an opportunity for in-depth conversation and networking.

A lively social program will run from the 3 – 6 September, including: A welcome function, Tropicana party, poolside dinner and the celebratory Xcalibur Multiphysics Workshop Dinner. 

Please note accommodation will be available from Sunday, 3 September until Friday 8 September.

Ferry transfers to/from the island are available daily and one return ferry pass is included in your registration fee.
